Diego Velo vs Zach Ivers

Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at Convention & Exhibition Centre, Melbourne,  taking place on 05/07/2030:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Diego Velo (2 - 0) who hails from Mexico City, Mexico and Zach Ivers(3 - 1) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Velo and Ivers weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Tarbert, and the three ringside judges are Mark Stein, Aaron Yale and John Lewis.  

Round 1: 

Ivers gets on the inside and hits home with a left hook.  Ivers ties up his opponent.  Ivers pushes his forearm into Velo's face.  The referee warns Ivers and breaks the clinch.  
Ivers gets on the inside.  Ivers sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Velo steps away from his opponent.  Ivers is on target with a cross to Velo's body.  
Ivers steps inside and manouvers his opponent into the red corner.  Ivers lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Ivers closes the distance and throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Ivers clinches his opponent.  Ivers leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Ivers's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Velo pivots to the right of his opponent.  Ivers is on target with a firm right hook to Velo's ribs.  
Velo switches the action to the outside and lands a jab.  
Velo pivots to the side of his opponent.  Velo is on target with a right hook.  Ivers ties up his opponent.  Ivers leans on his opponent using all his weight. Velo pushes his forearm into Ivers's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Velo to stop fouling.  
Ivers gets on the inside and walks Velo onto the ropes.  Ivers hits home with a right hook.  
Ivers closes the distance and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Ivers ties up his opponent.  Ivers leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Ivers's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ivers advances into close range and is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.

Velo attempts to land a cross, but Ivers blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Ivers closes the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Velo on the ropes.  Ivers lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Ivers drives a right uppercut into his opponents ribs.  
Ivers digs in a right hook to Velo's ribcage.  
Ivers hits home with a right hook.  
Ivers gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook to Velo's body.  
Ivers is looking to close the distance and manages to force Velo onto the ropes.  Ivers hits home with a right hook.  
Velo throws a right hook, but Ivers clinches his opponent.  Ivers leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Ivers digs in a stinging right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Velo dabs at his face checking for damage.  Velo has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused bad damage to the nose.

Ivers steps inside and forces Velo to back into a corner.  Ivers lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Ivers lands two right uppercuts to the body, and one to the head.  
Ivers lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS VELO DOWN!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Velo cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Ivers!
