Douglas Baird vs Charlie Owen

Boxing Daily Report from the Kurusu Promotions promoted show at Thistle Hotel, Glasgow,  taking place on 18/07/2030:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the British-Scotland Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Douglas Baird (22(4) - 1) who hails from Dundee, UK and Charlie Owen(8 - 11 - 3) from Glasgow, UK.  Both Baird and Owen weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Hall, and the three ringside judges are Gordon Arnott, Bruce McBeth and Anton Adam.  

Round 1: 

Baird gets on the inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Baird ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Baird pushes his forearm into Owen's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Baird lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Owen switches the action to the outside.  Baird is on target with a stinging jab.  
Baird closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Baird pivots to the left of his opponent.  Baird lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Baird holds on to his opponent.  Baird tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Owen's kidney. Baird leans on his opponent using all his weight. Baird is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.
