Gennady Balakshin vs Toma Golubev

Boxing Daily Report from the Akamba Promotions promoted show at Kir Petukhov Gym, Yekaterinburg,  taking place on 05/08/2030:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Russia-Perm Krai Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gennady Balakshin (18(7) - 0) who hails from Perm, Russia and Toma Golubev(8 - 11 - 4) from Perm, Russia.  Both Balakshin and Golubev weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lazar Savin, and the three ringside judges are Dmitriy Chemerkin, Ioakim Markov and Valeri Lukashin.  

Round 1: 

Balakshin lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He then lands a cross to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Balakshin is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Balakshin lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Balakshin pivots to the side of his opponent.  Balakshin hits home with a solid left hook.  Balakshin holds on to his opponent.  Balakshin is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Balakshin and breaks the clinch.  
Balakshin lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  Balakshin holds on to his opponent.  Balakshin is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Balakshin's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Balakshin feints a left, and then lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Balakshin closes the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Balakshin connects with a right hook.  Balakshin holds on to his opponent.  Balakshin is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Balakshin is looking to keep his distance and strikes his opponents body with a cross.  
Balakshin gets on the inside and is on target with a left uppercut to Golubev's liver.  
Balakshin pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Balakshin tries to step out of his opponents range.  Balakshin stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Golubev attempts to land a cross, but Balakshin blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Balakshin is looking to close the distance.  Balakshin pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a sharp right hook.  
Balakshin advances into close range.  Balakshin sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Balakshin lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.  Balakshin holds on to his opponent.  Balakshin leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Balakshin backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Golubev accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Balakshin.  
Balakshin lands a right hook.  
Balakshin lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Balakshin lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Balakshin advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Golubev could be stopped here, if Balakshin can find the right shot!  Balakshin lands a left hook, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by  two right uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Balakshin is on target with a FIERCE right uppercut.  GOLUBEV IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  HE MAKES IT TO ONE KNEE, BUT IS UNABLE TO RISE ANY FURTHER AS THE REF COUNTS 10!  The winner by KO is Balakshin!
