Gethin Moriarty vs James Swinton

Boxing Daily Report from the Mandale Boxing Promotions promoted show at Melbourne Gianelli, Melbourne,  taking place on 23/07/2030:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Australia-Victoria Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gethin Moriarty (9 - 8(2) - 2) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and James Swinton(13(5) - 3) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Moriarty and Swinton weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Leighton McPherson, and the three ringside judges are Callum Mairs, Paul Raeburn and Kyle Hinshaw.  

Round 1: 

Moriarty is on target with a jab.  
Swinton steps inside and drives a sharp left hook into Moriarty's ribs.  
Moriarty is looking to keep his distance and lands a solid jab.  
Moriarty lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Swinton closes the distance and is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Swinton manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Swinton lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Swinton closes the distance.  Swinton sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Swinton manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Swinton digs in a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Swinton is on target with a left hook.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Swinton dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Swinton.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Swinton digs in a sharp left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Swinton lands a jab.  
Moriarty steps away from his opponent and hits home with an overhand left.  
Moriarty is on target with a jab.  Moriarty throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Moriarty steps away from his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Swinton forces Moriarty to retreat into a corner.  Swinton connects with a stinging right hook.  
Swinton lands a left hook.  
Swinton pivots from in front of his opponent and drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Swinton lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Swinton is on target with a stinging cross.  
Swinton is on target with a jab.  
Swinton steps inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Swinton walks Moriarty into a neutral corner.  Swinton lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Swinton lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Swinton closes the distance.  Swinton pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash! At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Moriarty's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Moriarty's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Moriarty's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Moriarty's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Swinton is on target with a sharp left uppercut to Moriarty's body.  
Swinton walks Moriarty down, trapping him on the ropes.  Swinton is on target with a left uppercut to Moriarty's body.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Swinton has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  The foul has worsened the damage  around the left eye.  
Moriarty is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with an overhand left.

Swinton closes the distance and crashes a mean right hook to Moriarty's body.  MORIARTY IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  
Swinton lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Swinton advances into close range and drives a sharp left hook into Moriarty's ribs.  MORIARTY IS HURT!  
Swinton is looking to force the stoppage!  Swinton lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body, KNOCKING MORIARTY DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Swinton!
