Matthew Barnes vs Jake Tierney

Boxing Daily Report from the Kugblenu Promotions promoted show at Detroit Litts, Detroit,  taking place on 02/09/2030:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Michigan Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Matthew Barnes (16 - 14(2) - 2) who hails from Detroit, USA and Jake Tierney(15(3) - 2(1)) from Detroit, USA.  Both Barnes and Tierney weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mike Craig, and the three ringside judges are Mark Tew, Mick Wathen and Cole Quigg.  

Round 1: 

Tierney is looking to close the distance.  Tierney sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Tierney pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Tierney lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Tierney walks his opponent into a corner.  Tierney digs in a solid right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Tierney gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Barnes steps to the outside and hits home with a cross.  
Barnes tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land a jab, but Tierney blocks the shot and counters with a firm cross.

Tierney advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Tierney digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Tierney walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Tierney lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Tierney gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Barnes sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Tierney drives a right hook into his opponents body.

Barnes steps away from his opponent and tries to land a cross, but Tierney sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Barnes steps inside.  Tierney pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Barnes's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Barnes's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Tierney steps inside and lands a HUGE left hook.  BARNES WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Barnes almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Tierney drives a left hook into his opponents liver.

Tierney digs in a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.

Barnes is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a cross.

Tierney walks Barnes into the corner.  Tierney pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Tierney pivots to the left of his opponent and lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Tierney pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.  
Barnes sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Tierney hits the target with a spiteful jab.  
Tierney connects with a left hook.  
Tierney tries to keep the action at long range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, KNOCKING BARNES DOWN!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Tierney!
