Franco Velasquez vs Nemesio Mare

Boxing Daily Report from the Costa Rican Boxing promoted show at San Jose Pintado, San Jose,  taking place on 26/08/2030:

Clearly Costa Rican Boxing have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Costa Rica-San Jose Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Franco Velasquez (5(2) - 3 - 1) who hails from San Jose, Costa Rica and Nemesio Mare(5 - 2 - 3) from San Jose, Costa Rica.  Both Velasquez and Mare weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Baltasar Cecilio, and the three ringside judges are Orlando Cuadrado, Selestino Guillen and Diego Giraldo.  

Round 1: 

Mare lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mare pivots to the side of his opponent.  Velasquez lands a jab.  
Mare throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut to Mare's body.  
Mare tries to keep the action at long range.  Velasquez is on target with a jab.  
Velasquez is looking to close the distance.  Mare connects with a right uppercut.  
Velasquez gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.

Velasquez tries to land a left uppercut, but Mare blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Velasquez connects with a stinging right hook.

Velasquez closes the distance and attempts to land a left uppercut, but Mare slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Velasquez drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
Velasquez throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.

Mare manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Mare lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.

Velasquez advances into close range and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Velasquez forces Mare to back into the ropes.  Velasquez lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  
Mare attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Velasquez time to recover.  
Velasquez connects with a firm left uppercut.  Velasquez attempts to land a left hook, but Mare sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Mare switches the action to the outside.  Velasquez finds the target with a spiteful jab.  
Velasquez SLAMS a WICKED cross into his opponents face.  MARE IS HURT!  
Velasquez is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Velasquez lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head, KNOCKING MARE DOWN!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Velasquez!
