John Nolan vs Darragh Callacghan

Boxing Daily Report from the AI UK-Northern Ireland promoted show at Lee Higgins Gym, Londonderry,  taking place on 15/10/2030:

Clearly AI UK-Northern Ireland have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Northern Ireland Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Nolan (12(1) - 1 - 1) who hails from Belfast, UK and Darragh Callacghan(9 - 8 - 2) from Belfast, UK.  Nolan weighed in at 140 pounds, while Callacghan weighed in at 141 pounds.    As Callacghan came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Eoin McPhee, and the three ringside judges are Josh Brannon, James McAfee and Clint Guild.  

Round 1: 

Nolan gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Nolan is looking to close the distance and lands two left hook's to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Nolan holds on to his opponent.  Nolan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Nolan pushes his forearm into Callacghan's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Callacghan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Nolan attempts to land a cross, but Callacghan slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Nolan advances into close range and digs in a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Callacghan is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Nolan hits home with a solid cross.  Nolan attempts to land a jab, but Callacghan slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Nolan manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Nolan connects with a HUGE right hook.  CALLACGHAN WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Callacghan quickly recovers. 
Nolan steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the body.  Nolan ties up his opponent.  Nolan pushes his forearm into Callacghan's face.  The referee warns Nolan and breaks the clinch.  
Nolan lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Nolan lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Nolan is on target with a firm right hook to his opponents body.  Nolan ties up his opponent.  Nolan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.

Nolan gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Callacghan almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Nolan advances into close range and drives a right hook into his opponents body.

Nolan throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Nolan holds on to his opponent.  Nolan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Nolan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Callacghan tries to step out of his opponents range.  Nolan connects with a cross.  
Nolan is looking to close the distance and is on target with a stinging right hook to Callacghan's ribcage.

Nolan advances into close range.  Nolan sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a stinging right hook.

Nolan is looking to close the distance.  Nolan lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  As Callacghan tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Nolan.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Nolan digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents liver.  Nolan throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Callacghan switches the action to the outside.  Nolan lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Nolan is on target with a stinging jab.  
Nolan walks his opponent down, trapping him in the red corner.  Nolan lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Nolan lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Nolan is on target with a right hook to Callacghan's ribcage.  Nolan attempts to land a left hook, but Callacghan parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Callacghan's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.
