Elias Carpio vs Vegas Gomez

Boxing Daily Report from the Los Moreco Promotions promoted show at Estadio La Veranera, Leon,  taking place on 06/01/2031:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nicaragua Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on ESTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Elias Carpio (8(7) - 1) who hails from Leon, Nicaragua and Vegas Gomez(9 - 11(1) - 1) from Managua, Nicaragua.  Carpio weighed in at 154 pounds, while Gomez weighed in at 153 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Fraco Tafoya, and the three ringside judges are Seferino Retana, Marco Sabio and Nasario Nolasco.  

Round 1: 

Carpio attempts to land a left hook, but Gomez parries the shot and counters with a cross.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gomez's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Gomez's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Carpio gets on the inside and lands a stinging left hook.  
Carpio lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Carpio digs in a solid right hook to his opponents body.  Carpio ties up his opponent.  Carpio leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Carpio is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Carpio and breaks the clinch.  
Carpio drives a sharp left hook into his opponents body.  
Carpio lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Carpio ties up his opponent.  Carpio leans on his opponent using all his weight. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Carpio to stop holding.

Gomez advances into close range.  Carpio lands a left hook, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Gomez recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Carpio lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Carpio snaps his opponents head back with a spiteful jab.
