Ian Potts vs Rua Oneroa

Boxing Daily Report from the Skol Promotions promoted show at North Shore Event Centre, Auckland,  taking place on 01/02/2031:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ian Potts (13(5) - 0) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Rua Oneroa(2 - 13 - 1) from Auckland, New Zealand.  Potts weighed in at 227 pounds And 13 ounces, while Oneroa weighed in at 231 pounds And 5 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Robert Smillie, and the three ringside judges are Dale Mostyn, Max Weatherspoon and Dave Forbush.  

Round 1: 

Potts hits home with an overhand right.  
Potts advances into close range and is on target with a left uppercut.  
Potts is on target with a solid jab to his opponents body.  
Potts steps inside and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Potts gets on the inside and lands a right hook.

Potts hits the target with a hard jab.  
Potts closes the distance and drives a sharp left hook into Oneroa's body.  Potts clinches his opponent.  Potts pushes his forearm into Oneroa's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Potts about fouling.  
Potts is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Potts walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Potts connects with a right hook.  Potts clinches his opponent.  Potts throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Potts.  
Potts is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  Potts ties up his opponent.  Potts is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Potts's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Potts is on target with a solid left hook to his opponents body.  Potts clinches his opponent.  Potts tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Oneroa behind the head. The referee warns Potts and breaks the clinch.  
Potts closes the distance.  Oneroa pivots to the right of his opponent.  Potts lands a right hook to the body followed by two left hook's to the head.  
Potts walks Oneroa down, trapping him in the corner.  Potts is on target with a firm right hook to his opponents body.  
Potts lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Potts advances into close range and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Potts lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Potts drives a sharp right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Potts lands a left uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Potts digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Potts is on target with a cross.  Potts tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.

Potts lands a right uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body, DROPPING ONEROA TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Oneroa almost instantly recovers. 
Potts lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Potts lands with a hard jab.  
Potts lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Potts lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Potts digs in a firm left uppercut to his opponents ribs.

Potts lands a powerful left uppercut.  ONEROA HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  
Potts sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Potts is on target with a right hook.  
Oneroa attempts to land a jab, but Potts dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Potts lands a left hook.
