Floyd Patton vs Hayden Gilbride

Boxing Daily Report from the No limit promoted show at University of the Sunshine Coast, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 31/01/2031:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Australia-Queensland Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Floyd Patton (11 - 3 - 1) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and Hayden Gilbride(9(4) - 3) from Brisbane, Australia.  Both Patton and Gilbride weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Fraser McNabb, and the three ringside judges are Mark Taggert, Zain Sharifi and Chris Forsythe.  

Round 1: 

Gilbride steps inside.  Patton sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Gilbride lands a stinging left hook.  As Gilbride tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Patton dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Patton steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a cross, but Gilbride slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Gilbride is looking to close the distance and throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Gilbride ties up his opponent.  Gilbride is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Gilbride's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
