Roman Lucero vs Jake Karaitiana

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Wellington promoted show at Wellington Summerhill, Wellington,  taking place on 31/12/2030:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Roman Shotgun Lucero (31(31) - 3(2) - 1) who hails from Rodriguez, Philippines and Jake Karaitiana(4 - 10 - 1) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Both Lucero and Karaitiana weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Keka Paratene, and the three ringside judges are Barry Ramage, Erorangi Muunu and Geoff Symington.  

Round 1: 

Lucero lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Lucero steps inside and lands a powerful left uppercut.  KARAITIANA IS HURT!  Karaitiana recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Lucero finds the target with a stinging jab.  
Lucero closes the distance.  Karaitiana pivots to the side of his opponent.  Lucero lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Lucero lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Lucero is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Lucero lands a double right hook to his opponents head, AND KARAITIANA IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.  It looks like Karaitiana has now recovered from that shot earlier.

Lucero lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Lucero holds on to his opponent.  Lucero pushes his forearm into Karaitiana's face.  The ref breaks Lucero's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Lucero advances into close range and is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  Lucero holds on to his opponent.  Lucero is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Lucero to stop fouling.  
Lucero is on target with a cross.  
Lucero digs in a solid left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Lucero lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He then lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Karaitiana recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Lucero walks his opponent into the corner.  Lucero throws a right uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot.  Lucero clinches his opponent.  Lucero leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Lucero pushes his forearm into Karaitiana's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Lucero.  
Lucero feints a cross, but Karaitiana is not fooled and lands with a left hook.  
Lucero gets on the inside.  Lucero quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a sharp left uppercut to Karaitiana's body.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Karaitiana's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Lucero lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Lucero clinches his opponent.  Lucero pushes his forearm into Karaitiana's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Lucero to stop fouling.  
Lucero senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Lucero lands a cross, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DROPS KARAITIANA TO THE CANVAS!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Lucero!
