Jose Pequeno vs Reyes Calzadilla

Boxing Daily Report from the Los Moreco Promotions promoted show at Javier Cruz Artes y Oficios, Panama City,  taking place on 10/02/2031:

Clearly Los Moreco Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on NEXtv, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jose Pequeno (5(4) - 0) who hails from Panama City, Panama and Reyes Calzadilla(6 - 17 - 2) from Bogota, Colombia.  Both Pequeno and Calzadilla weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Montel Cueva, and the three ringside judges are Rodrigo Serafin, Roman Borquez and Gervasio Poblete.  

Round 1: 

Pequeno lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Calzadilla tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Pequeno lands with a hard jab.  
Pequeno lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Pequeno lands a sharp right uppercut.  
Pequeno lands a ramrod jab.  
Calzadilla steps inside.  Pequeno is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  Pequeno ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Pequeno pushes his forearm into Calzadilla's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Pequeno attempts to land a left hook, but Calzadilla blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Pequeno switches the action to the outside and hits home with a ramrod jab.  
Calzadilla advances into close range.  Pequeno sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Calzadilla manages to force Pequeno onto the ropes.  Pequeno lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Pequeno tries to keep the action at long range and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Pequeno is on target with a jab to his opponents body.  Pequeno throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Pequeno lands two jabs to the body, and one to the head.  
Pequeno hits home with a cross.  
Pequeno lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Pequeno is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Pequeno lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Pequeno ties up his opponent.  Pequeno pushes his forearm into Calzadilla's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Pequeno.  
Calzadilla steps inside.  Pequeno pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Pequeno steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Pequeno feints a left hook, and then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Calzadilla almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Pequeno pivots from in front of his opponent.  Calzadilla attempts to land a cross, but Pequeno parries the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Pequeno steps away from his opponent.  Pequeno feints a left hook, and then connects with an overhand left.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Calzadilla's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Pequeno knows Calzadilla is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Pequeno lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS CALZADILLA DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  It looks like Calzadilla has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Pequeno steps away from his opponent and lands a jab.  
Pequeno tries to keep the action at long range and lands a jab to his opponents body.  
Pequeno is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Pequeno pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Pequeno steps to the outside.  Pequeno sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Calzadilla gets on the inside.  Pequeno is on target with a sharp right hook.  Pequeno ties up his opponent.  Pequeno is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Pequeno is on target with a jab.  
Pequeno switches the action to the outside and lands a stinging cross.  
Calzadilla steps inside.  Calzadilla sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Calzadilla throws a right hook, but Pequeno ties up his opponent.  Pequeno hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Calzadilla walks Pequeno onto the ropes.  Pequeno hits home with a stinging right uppercut.  
Calzadilla is looking to close the distance.  Pequeno throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Pequeno holds on to his opponent.  Pequeno throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Pequeno is looking to keep his distance and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Pequeno lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Calzadilla closes the distance.  Pequeno drives a right hook into Calzadilla's body.  
Pequeno pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Calzadilla quickly recovers. 
Pequeno steps to the outside and snaps his opponents head back with a spiteful jab.

Pequeno sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Pequeno is on target with a CRUSHING cross.  CALZADILLA IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 7.  Calzadilla now seems to have his senses back.  
Pequeno lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Calzadilla closes the distance.  Pequeno lands two left hook's to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Pequeno is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Pequeno feints a left hook, and then strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Calzadilla lands a cross to his opponents body.  Calzadilla tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Pequeno lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Pequeno EXPLODES a nasty right uppercut into his opponents face.  DOWN GOES CALZADILLA!  HE REMAINS ON THE CANVAS AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Pequeno!
