Nicandro Monico vs Joaquin Labrada

Boxing Daily Report from the Los Moreco Promotions promoted show at Los Gym, San Jose,  taking place on 05/02/2031:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Nicandro Monico (5(4) - 0) who hails from Duran, Ecuador and Joaquin Labrada(2 - 0 - 1) from Managua, Nicaragua.  Monico weighed in at 146 pounds and 11 ounces, while Labrada weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Diego Vegas, and the three ringside judges are Loredo Mesquita, Cezar Gall and Diego Giraldo.  

Round 1: 

Monico advances into close range and throws a left uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Monico clinches his opponent.  Monico is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Monico about fouling.
