Jim Higgins vs Tommy Byrnes

Boxing Daily Report from the Mthethwa Promotions promoted show at Gavin Griffith Gym, Edinburgh,  taking place on 15/01/2031:

Clearly Mthethwa Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Scotland Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jim Higgins (8 - 12 - 5) who hails from Glasgow, UK and Tommy Byrnes(5 - 16 - 6) from Glasgow, UK.  Both Higgins and Byrnes weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Abdul Arif, and the three ringside judges are Robert Priddy, Martin MacBeth and Tom Crowe.  

Round 1: 

Higgins advances into close range and connects with a left hook.  
Byrnes lands a left hook.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Higgins has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.
