Ian Powell vs James Lowe

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Auckland promoted show at Simasiku Gym, Auckland,  taking place on 24/02/2031:

Clearly AI New Zealand-Auckland have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ian Powell (13 - 9(1) - 1) who hails from North Shore, New Zealand and James Lowe(7 - 6) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Powell weighed in at 115 pounds and 13 ounces, while Lowe weighed in at 115 pounds.    As Powell came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Clinton Martie, and the three ringside judges are Mark Vaux, Chris Kellie and Waraki Kawau.  

Round 1: 

Lowe steps away from his opponent.  Powell attempts to land a cross, but Lowe slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Powell lands a left hook.  
Lowe forces Powell to retreat into a neutral corner.  Lowe pivots to the right of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Powell is looking to close the distance.  Lowe pivots to the right of his opponent.  Lowe tries to land a left hook, but Powell blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Powell lands a cross.  
Powell throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Lowe time to recover.  
Lowe lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Powell's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Lowe's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.
