Gbolahan Oni vs Jay-Jay Eriba

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nigeria-FCT promoted show at Abuja Obanta, Abuja,  taking place on 26/03/2031:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Nigeria-FCT Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on AIT Sports, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gbolahan Oni (7(4) - 0) who hails from Abuja, Nigeria and Jay-Jay Eriba(22 - 9 - 2) from Abuja, Nigeria.  Oni weighed in at 200 pounds, while Eriba weighed in at 199 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Bright Madaki, and the three ringside judges are Sone Omeje, Sone Omeje and Chima Obiefule.  

Round 1: 

Oni steps inside.  Oni sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Oni drives a firm left hook into Eriba's body.  Oni clinches his opponent.  Oni is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Oni about fouling.  
Oni digs in a solid right hook to Eriba's body.  Oni holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Oni throws a left uppercut, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Oni holds on to his opponent.  Oni leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Oni manouvers Eriba into the corner.  Oni lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Oni ties up his opponent.  Oni leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Oni lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.

Some sustained pressure from Oni could be enough to finish Eriba!  Oni lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND DOWN GOES ERIBA!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Oni lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND DROPS ERIBA!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  It looks like Eriba has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Oni advances into close range.  Oni quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Oni lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Oni throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

Oni closes the distance and digs in a right hook to Eriba's ribs.  
Oni lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Oni sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut.  
Oni pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Oni closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  Oni clinches his opponent.  Oni leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Oni pivots to the side of his opponent.  Oni lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Oni ties up his opponent.  Oni is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Oni attempts to land a right hook, but Eriba blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Oni sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
Oni lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Eriba tries to land a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Oni is looking to close the distance and slams a hurtful left hook into his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE ERIBA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Oni clinches his opponent.  Oni is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Oni to stop holding.  Eriba almost instantly recovers.
