Vicente Cerna vs Gig Diaz

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nicaragua-Leon promoted show at Leon Giraldo, Leon,  taking place on 27/03/2031:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nicaragua-Leon Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Vicente Cerna (20(7) - 12(2) - 1) who hails from Leon, Nicaragua and Gig Diaz(14 - 13(3) - 4) from Leon, Nicaragua.  Both Cerna and Diaz weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Diego Cuesta, and the three ringside judges are Urvano Osorio, Marco Sabio and Diego Vargas.  

Round 1: 

Cerna steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Cerna connects with a right uppercut.  
Cerna hits home with a left hook.  
Cerna pivots from in front of his opponent.  Diaz throws a left hook, but Cerna holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Cerna pushes his forearm into Diaz's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Cerna about fouling.  
Diaz is looking to keep his distance.  Cerna lands a jab, overhand left and a cross to his opponents head.  
Cerna steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Diaz throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Cerna closes the distance and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Cerna holds on to his opponent.  Cerna pushes his forearm into Diaz's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Cerna to stop fouling.

Diaz steps to the outside.  Cerna is on target with a cross.  
Cerna closes the distance and hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Cerna gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right uppercut to the head.  
Cerna lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Cerna lands a sharp right hook.  Cerna ties up his opponent.  Cerna leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Diaz pivots to the left of his opponent.  Cerna lands a cross.  
Diaz steps away from his opponent.  Cerna lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Diaz's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Diaz's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Diaz's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Diaz steps to the outside and attempts to land a cross, but Cerna sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.  
Cerna drives a right hook into Diaz's body.  
Diaz throws a right hook, but Cerna ties up his opponent.  Cerna leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Cerna's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
