Nick Maines vs Louis Liddle

Boxing Daily Report from the CGM Promotions promoted show at Georgetown Maready, Georgetown,  taking place on 19/04/2031:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Guyana-North Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Nick Maines (6(2) - 1 - 1) who hails from Linden, Guyana and Louis Liddle(10 - 7(1) - 1) from Georgetown, Guyana.  Both Maines and Liddle weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Adam Kinzey, and the three ringside judges are Jack Palin, John Crombie and Chris Edmund.  

Round 1: 

Maines gets on the inside.  Maines quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Maines tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Maines pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Liddle tries to land a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a solid left hook.  
Liddle is on target with a cross.  
Liddle pivots to the side of his opponent.  Liddle attempts to land a cross, but Maines sidesteps and counters with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Maines pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Maines lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Maines sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Maines steps inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Liddle switches the action to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Maines digs in a solid left hook to Liddle's body.  
Maines manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Maines digs in a firm right hook to his opponents body.

Maines connects with a right hook.  
Maines lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Maines walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Maines lands a left uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Maines lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.  
Liddle lands a cross to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Maines lands a left uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents body.  
Maines pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a stinging right hook.  
Maines manouvers Liddle onto the ropes.  Maines lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

Maines steps away from his opponent and finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Maines lands a right hook, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Liddle steps away from his opponent and lands a cross.  
Maines cuts off the ring, trapping Liddle on the ropes.  Liddle is on target with a cross.  
Maines steps inside.  Maines pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Liddle sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Maines lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Maines is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Liddle switches the action to the outside and tries to land a jab, but Maines sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Maines is looking to close the distance.  Maines pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Maines pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Liddle recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Maines walks Liddle down, trapping him on the ropes.  Maines lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Maines drives a left hook into Liddle's ribs.  Maines tries to land a left hook, but Liddle sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Maines closes the distance.  Liddle digs in a left uppercut to Maines's liver.  
Maines sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Liddle feints a jab, and then digs in a left uppercut to Maines's liver.  Liddle attempts to land a cross, but Maines sidesteps and counters with a nasty right uppercut.  LIDDLE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Liddle switches the action to the outside.  Maines knows Liddle is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Maines lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head, AND LIDDLE IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  It looks like Liddle has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Liddle's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Liddle's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Liddle pivots to the left of his opponent.  Liddle throws a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Maines closes the distance and is on target with a left uppercut to Liddle's body.  
Maines hits home with a cross.  
Liddle attempts to land a cross, but Maines slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Maines pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Maines steps inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS LIDDLE DOWN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Maines!
