Glynn Curvis vs David Barthez

Boxing Daily Report from the Darko Promotions promoted show at Vito Tomljanovic Gym, Knoxville,  taking place on 12/05/2031:

Clearly Darko Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Tennessee Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Glynn Curvis (16 - 8 - 4) who hails from Nashville, USA and David Barthez(7 - 10(1) - 4) from Memphis, USA.  Curvis weighed in at 160 pounds, while Barthez weighed in at 159 pounds And 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mark McAndrews, and the three ringside judges are Kris Breck, Jonathan Mill and Paul Cruikshank.  

Round 1: 

Curvis forces Barthez to back into the red corner.  Curvis digs in a right hook to Barthez's body.  
Curvis advances into close range and lands a left uppercut.

Barthez connects with a left hook.  Barthez wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Curvis has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Barthez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a cross to Curvis's body.  
Barthez feints a jab, fooling Curvis into launching a left hook counter.  Barthez springs the trap and counters with  a left hook.
