Inigo Mortimer vs Kai Blackwood

Boxing Daily Report from the Karl promoted show at Rob Melrose Gym, Philadelphia,  taking place on 02/05/2031:

Clearly Karl have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Inigo Mortimer (2 - 0) who hails from Philadelphia, USA and Kai Blackwood(1 - 1) from Colorado Springs, USA.  Both Mortimer and Blackwood weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Stuart Hind, and the three ringside judges are Sammy Duchamp, Hayden Camus and Jacob Profit.  

Round 1: 

Mortimer gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Mortimer lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Mortimer attempts to land a right uppercut, but Blackwood blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mortimer pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mortimer steps inside and slams a mean right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.  BLACKWOOD WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Mortimer attempts to land a right hook, but Blackwood blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  Blackwood recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Blackwood lands a jab.  
Mortimer is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mortimer digs in a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  
Blackwood quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Blackwood throws a right uppercut, but Mortimer ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Mortimer pushes his forearm into Blackwood's face.  The ref breaks Mortimer's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mortimer lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, KNOCKING BLACKWOOD DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Blackwood recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Mortimer lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Mortimer holds on to his opponent.  Mortimer leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mortimer is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mortimer closes the distance and lands a stinging right uppercut.  
Mortimer lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Blackwood's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Blackwood's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Blackwood's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Mortimer manages to force Blackwood onto the ropes.  Mortimer quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mortimer digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  Mortimer attempts to land a right uppercut, but Blackwood blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mortimer quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a right uppercut to Blackwood's ribcage.  
Mortimer is looking to close the distance and is on target with a weighty left uppercut to his opponents body.  BLACKWOOD IS HURT!  
Mortimer senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Blackwood and just needs the right shot.  Mortimer lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head, AND BLACKWOOD IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Mortimer manouvers Blackwood onto the ropes.  Mortimer senses Blackwood is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Mortimer lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body, AND BLACKWOOD IS DOWN!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Blackwood cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Mortimer!
