Mike Muya vs Davie Nderitu

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Kisumu promoted show at Kisumu Jepleting, Kisumu,  taking place on 25/05/2031:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mike Muya (4 - 1) who hails from Kisumu, Kenya and Davie Nderitu(16 - 8(3) - 1) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Both Muya and Nderitu weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Lavatsa, and the three ringside judges are Kendis Rimbui, Mick Mutu and David Macgoye.  

Round 1: 

Muya steps inside.  Muya sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Muya lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  Muya clinches his opponent.  Muya pushes his forearm into Nderitu's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Muya finds the target with a jab.  
Muya gets on the inside.  Muya sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Muya lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Muya is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Muya gets on the inside and connects with a sharp left hook.  
Muya drives a firm right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Muya walks Nderitu down, trapping him on the ropes.  Muya drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Muya lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Muya clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Muya pushes his forearm into Nderitu's face.  The referee warns Muya and breaks the clinch.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Nderitu's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Nderitu's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Nderitu's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Nderitu's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Muya digs in a right hook to Nderitu's body.  Muya throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Nderitu tries to keep the action at long range.  Muya feints a cross, but Nderitu does not fall for it and is on target with a left hook to his opponents ribs.

Muya is looking to force the stoppage!  Muya lands a right hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by  two right uppercuts to his opponents body.  It looks like Nderitu has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.
