Rodrigo Castanon vs Javier Armas

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Coahuila promoted show at Saltillo Prados, Saltillo,  taking place on 26/05/2031:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Coahuila Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rodrigo Castanon (10 - 18(1) - 3) who hails from Torreon, Mexico and Javier Armas(15(3) - 13(5) - 1) from Torreon, Mexico.  Both Castanon and Armas weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Santiago Lama, and the three ringside judges are Rio Milan, Carlos Remigio and Selestino Briones.  

Round 1: 

Armas lands a cross.  
Armas is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.

Armas gets on the inside and forces Castanon to retreat into the corner.  Armas quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Armas lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Armas clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Armas pushes his forearm into Castanon's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Armas lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Armas ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Armas pushes his forearm into Castanon's face.  The ref breaks Armas's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Armas lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Castanon quickly recovers.

Armas throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Armas ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Armas pushes his forearm into Castanon's face.  The ref breaks Armas's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Castanon throws a left uppercut, but Armas ties up his opponent.  Armas is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Armas and breaks the clinch.  
Armas digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents liver.  
Armas lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Armas lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Castanon attempts to land a right hook, but Armas blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Armas steps inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Castanon steps to the outside and connects with an overhand left.  
Armas hits home with a ramrod jab.  
Armas drives a firm left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Armas hits home with a sharp right uppercut.  Armas clinches his opponent.  Armas uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Castanon behind the head. 
Armas forces Castanon to retreat into the corner.  Armas is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Armas lands a right uppercut to the body, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Armas drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
Armas lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Castanon's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Castanon's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Castanon's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Armas is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Armas lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, KNOCKING CASTANON DOWN!  He manages to get up at 6.  
Armas is on target with a telling left hook to Castanon's liver.  CASTANON IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  
Armas lands a right hook to the head followed by two left uppercut's to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body, AND CASTANON IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  It looks like Castanon has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Armas lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.

Armas digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Armas digs in a potent right hook to his opponents body.  CASTANON IS HURT!  
Armas sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Armas lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND CASTANON IS KNOCKED DOWN!  The ref immediately waves off the fight...he's seen enough!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Armas!
