Mel Clyde vs Rob Duggan

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Canterbury promoted show at Christchurch Catterson, Christchurch,  taking place on 28/05/2031:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mel Clyde (10 - 5 - 5) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and Rob Duggan(22(8) - 11(7)) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Both Clyde and Duggan weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Neild, and the three ringside judges are Ewan Roxburgh, Mike Muncie and Michael Breck.  

Round 1: 

Duggan lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Duggan lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Duggan ties up his opponent.  Duggan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Duggan connects with a left hook.  Duggan clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Duggan pushes his forearm into Clyde's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Duggan to stop fouling.  
Duggan digs in a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Duggan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Clyde throws a left hook, but Duggan clinches his opponent.  Duggan uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Clyde behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Duggan advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Clyde in a corner.  Duggan lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Duggan senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Duggan lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND DOWN GOES CLYDE!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  It looks like Clyde has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Duggan lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Duggan gets on the inside and digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Clyde tries to step out of his opponents range.  Clyde is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Duggan connects with a cross.  
Duggan is on target with a cross.  
Clyde throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Duggan walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Duggan pivots to the left of his opponent.  Duggan throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot.  Duggan holds on to his opponent.  Duggan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Duggan uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Clyde behind the head. The ref breaks Duggan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Duggan lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Duggan drives a firm right hook into Clyde's body.  
Duggan drives a firm right hook into his opponents body.  CLYDE IS HURT!  Duggan clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks Duggan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Clyde recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Duggan closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Duggan clinches his opponent.  Duggan uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Clyde behind the head. Duggan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Duggan thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Clyde away.  Duggan is on target with a powerful left hook to his opponents body.  CLYDE IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  It looks like Clyde has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Duggan lands a right hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Clyde almost instantly recovers. 
Duggan hits home with a solid jab.  
Clyde tries to land a cross, but Duggan sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Duggan advances into close range and digs in a sharp left hook to Clyde's liver.

Duggan lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Duggan feints a left hook, and then lands a cross to the head followed by a left hook to the body.

Clyde sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Duggan lands a right uppercut to the body followed by two left hook's to the head.  
Duggan walks his opponent down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Duggan digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Duggan lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND CLYDE IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Duggan!
