Waqar Firman vs Angel Aponte

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Robina Stadium, Gold Coast,  taking place on 07/06/2031:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the WRBA Super Middleweight title.  Also on the line are the IRBF Super Middleweight, WRBC Super Middleweight and WRBO Super Middleweight titles.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Waqar Firman (43(39) - 2(1)) who hails from Ugep, Nigeria and Angel Apollo Aponte(28(5) - 5(3) - 1) from Campinas, Brazil.  Both Firman and Aponte weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rob Gollon, and the three ringside judges are Ian Corrie, Fraser McNabb and Neil Pembroke.  

Round 1: 

Aponte gets on the inside and lands a left hook.  
Aponte throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.

Firman steps away from his opponent.  Firman sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Aponte throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Firman is on target with an overhand left.  Firman attempts to land a jab, but Aponte slips the shot and counters with a left hook to Firman's liver.  
Firman feints a cross, tricking Aponte into throwing a cross counter.  Firman is waiting for the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Aponte advances into close range and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Aponte is looking to close the distance and walks Firman onto the ropes.  Aponte pivots to the side of his opponent.  Firman lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Firman is looking to close the distance and connects with a hurtful left hook.  APONTE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Firman knows Aponte is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Firman lands a cross, left uppercut and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He then lands two left hooks followed by a cross to his opponents head.  The winner by KO is Firman!
