James Nurse vs Alfonso Maddry

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at UIC Pavilion, Chicago,  taking place on 21/06/2031:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the North American Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are James Nurse (21(6) - 1(1) - 1) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and Alfonso Maddry(26(17) - 10(7)) from Puebla, Mexico.  Both Nurse and Maddry weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lucas McGowan, and the three ringside judges are Matt Preddy, John Oman and Lewis Williams.  

Round 1: 

Maddry lands a hard jab.  
Nurse is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a cross.  
Maddry advances into close range and attempts to land a right hook, but Nurse slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Maddry digs in a solid left hook to Nurse's body.  
Maddry advances into close range.  Maddry pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Maddry digs in a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Maddry walks his opponent into a neutral corner.  Maddry lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.

Maddry senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Nurse and just needs the right shot.  Maddry lands a right uppercut, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body, DROPPING NURSE TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Nurse now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Nurse tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land an overhand right, but Maddry slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Maddry is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Nurse digs in a left hook to Maddry's body.  
Nurse steps away from his opponent and is on target with a ramrod jab.  
Nurse lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Nurse connects with an overhand right.  Nurse attempts to land a cross, but Maddry slips the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Nurse digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.

Maddry closes the distance and forces Nurse to retreat onto the ropes.  Maddry lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Maddry throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Maddry lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Maddry cuts off the ring, trapping Nurse on the ropes.  Maddry is on target with a right hook to Nurse's body.  Maddry tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Maddry advances into close range.  Nurse quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent andAs Maddry tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Nurse dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Nurse steps away from his opponent and connects with an overhand right.

Maddry closes the distance.  Maddry sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Maddry lands a left hook, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Nurse switches the action to the outside.  Maddry is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Maddry crashes a nasty right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  NURSE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Nurse now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Maddry advances into close range and walks Nurse down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Maddry digs in a firm right hook to Nurse's body.  
Maddry is on target with a right hook to Nurse's body.  
Nurse is on target with a left hook to Maddry's liver.  
Maddry is on target with a solid left hook to Nurse's body.  
Maddry digs in a solid left hook to his opponents body.  
Nurse throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp cross.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Nurse's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Nurse tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Maddry walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Maddry lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Nurse almost instantly recovers.
