Harper Mehl vs Glynn Mungle

Boxing Daily Report from the Mr. Vicious promoted show at National Stadium, Dublin,  taking place on 15/06/2031:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Harper Mehl (0 - 0) who hails from Oslo, Norway and Glynn Mungle(12 - 9(1) - 3) from Drogheda, Ireland.  Both Mehl and Mungle weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Anthony McNeeley, and the three ringside judges are Eoghan Markey, Dean Napier and Jason Orman.  

Round 1: 

Mungle sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Mungle attempts to land a jab, but Mehl sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
Mehl is looking to close the distance and hits home with a left hook.  
Mehl drives a stinging left hook into his opponents body.  
Mehl walks Mungle down, trapping him on the ropes.  Mehl lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mehl lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Mehl attempts to land a right hook, but Mungle blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mehl throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mehl sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a spiteful jab.  
Mehl is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Mehl walks Mungle down, trapping him in the corner.  Mehl lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.

Mehl lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mehl lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Mehl digs in a firm right hook to Mungle's body.  Mehl holds on to his opponent.  Mehl pushes his forearm into Mungle's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mehl.  
Mungle attempts to land a left hook, but Mehl blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to Mungle's body.  
Mungle tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
Mehl manages to force Mungle into a corner.  Mehl lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Mehl clinches his opponent.  Mehl leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Mehl throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mehl throws a right uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Mehl clinches his opponent.  Mehl throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Mehl gets on the inside and connects with a left hook.  
Mungle steps to the outside.  Mehl lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mehl steps inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Mehl advances into close range and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mungle's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Mehl steps inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Mehl clinches his opponent.  Mehl is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mehl lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Mehl is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Mehl lands a right hook, cross and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook, right hook and a cross to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES MUNGLE!  He manages to get up at 4.  Mungle now seems to have got his legs back.  
Mehl gets on the inside and forces Mungle to retreat into the corner.  Mehl hits home with a right hook.  
Mehl lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Mungle tries to keep the action at long range.  Mehl feints a left hook, and then lands with a hard jab.  
Mehl drives a right uppercut into his opponents ribs.  
Mehl gets on the inside.  Mehl lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Mehl wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mungle dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mehl senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Mehl lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  He then lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body, AND SENDS MUNGLE TO THE CANVAS!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Mungle cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Mehl!
