Max Carrick vs Brendan Torrence

Boxing Daily Report from the Olola promoted show at Carver Theatre, Birmingham,  taking place on 23/06/2031:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the USA-Illinois Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Max Carrick (16 - 7 - 2) who hails from Chicago, USA and Brendan Torrence(10 - 7) from Chicago, USA.  Carrick weighed in at 175 pounds, while Torrence weighed in at 174 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Glynn Leas, and the three ringside judges are William Terrace, Robert Reith and Michael Deans.  

Round 1: 

Carrick quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Torrence wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Carrick dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Torrence throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Torrence steps inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Torrence is looking to close the distance and connects with a right uppercut.  
Carrick switches the action to the outside and is on target with a cross.

Torrence switches the action to the outside.  Carrick lands an overhand right to the head, a jab to the head and a cross to the body.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Torrence has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.

Torrence is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Torrence quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Carrick is on target with a jab.  Carrick tries to land a jab, but Torrence blocks the shot and counters with a cross.
