Dillon Taylor vs Chris Gerrie

Boxing Daily Report from the Slick Rick Promotions promoted show at Ian Simrell Gym, Auckland,  taking place on 26/06/2031:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Minimumweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dillon Taylor (7 - 6 - 2) who hails from North Shore, New Zealand and Chris Gerrie(9 - 7(2) - 3) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Both Taylor and Gerrie weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kyle Stine, and the three ringside judges are Kieran Beynon, Hani Rarere and Max Weatherspoon.  

Round 1: 

Taylor steps inside and digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Gerrie throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gerrie tries to step out of his opponents range.  Taylor sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Taylor attempts to land a cross, but Gerrie blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Taylor advances into close range.  Gerrie is on target with a right hook.  
Taylor attempts to land a jab, but Gerrie blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Gerrie cuts off the ring, trapping Taylor in a neutral corner.  Gerrie lands a left uppercut.  
Gerrie lands a jab.  
Gerrie steps to the outside.  Gerrie throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Taylor time to recover.  
Taylor advances into close range and is on target with a right hook.  
Taylor is on target with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gerrie's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Gerrie's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
