Matt Curvis vs Adam Baird

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Utah promoted show at Provo Dalling, Provo,  taking place on 02/07/2031:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Utah Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Matt Curvis (24(9) - 3(2)) who hails from West Valley City, USA and Adam Baird(19 - 9(2)) from Salt Lake City, USA.  Both Curvis and Baird weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Justin Lloyd, and the three ringside judges are John Egerton, Neil Probert and Jordan Burke.  

Round 1: 

Curvis is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Curvis is on target with a right uppercut.  Curvis ties up his opponent.  Curvis pushes his forearm into Baird's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Curvis about fouling.  
Curvis steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Baird steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Curvis is looking to close the distance.  Baird throws a left hook, but Curvis ties up his opponent.  Curvis throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Curvis lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Curvis connects with a cross.  
Curvis is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands an overhand left to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Baird throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Curvis steps inside and throws a right hook, but the shot is blocked.  Curvis clinches his opponent.  Curvis hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Curvis about fouling.

Baird quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Baird throws a left hook, but Curvis ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Curvis digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Curvis dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Baird steps to the outside.  Baird feints a left hook, and then attempts to land an overhand right, but Curvis dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Curvis lands two jab's to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Curvis gets on the inside.  Baird pivots to the right of his opponent.  Curvis lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Curvis attempts to land a right hook, but Baird sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Curvis lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Curvis lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Curvis gets on the inside and lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head.

You can sense Baird is getting frustrated in there.   He throws a low uppercut...that landed well below the belt! The ref ignores Curvis's protests and signals for the action to continue!

Curvis thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Baird away.  Curvis slams a hurtful left hook into Baird's body.  DOWN GOES BAIRD!  HE REMAINS ON THE CANVAS AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Curvis!
