Lavaughn Kapumpa vs Verlyn Chabatama

Boxing Daily Report from the South African Boxers promoted show at Rainbow Towers Hotel, Harare,  taking place on 24/09/2031:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Lavaughn Kapumpa (8(1) - 0) who hails from Kitwe, Zambia and Verlyn Chabatama(7 - 1 - 1) from Kitwe, Zambia.  Kapumpa weighed in at 147 pounds, while Chabatama weighed in at 146 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Chris Tholet, and the three ringside judges are Steven Joubert, Bryn Chinmano and Patrick Chung.  

Round 1: 

Kapumpa is looking to close the distance.  Kapumpa pivots from in front of his opponent.  Chabatama throws a left hook, but Kapumpa holds on to his opponent.  Kapumpa pushes his forearm into Chabatama's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Kapumpa to stop fouling.

You can sense the frustration from Chabatama now.   He throws a low uppercut...that landed well below the belt! The ref stops the action and tells Chabatama to keep his punches above the belt.  He gives Kapumpa time to recover.

Chabatama pivots to the side of his opponent.  Kapumpa lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Kapumpa digs in a sharp right hook to his opponents body.
