Raul Corneille vs Jake Montgomery

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Bob Guertin Arena, Gaineau,  taking place on 05/07/2031:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Raul Corneille (7 - 0) who hails from Laval, Canada and Jake Montgomery(1 - 1) from Toronto, Canada.  Corneille weighed in at 237 pounds and 13 ounces, while Montgomery weighed in at 233 pounds and 5 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Gower Paille, and the three ringside judges are Gerard Segalen, Launcelot Rozenthal and Nicholas Prior.  

Round 1: 

Montgomery advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Corneille in the corner.  Corneille lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
As Montgomery tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Corneille dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Montgomery connects with a left hook.  
Corneille steps to the outside and lands a jab to the body, a jab to the head and a cross to the head.  
Montgomery steps inside.  Corneille is on target with a solid left hook.  
Corneille pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Corneille steps away from his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Corneille lands a ramrod jab.  
Corneille lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Montgomery closes the distance.  Corneille sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Montgomery sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Montgomery closes the distance.  Corneille pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Corneille feints a left hook, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Montgomery forces Corneille to back into the ropes.  Montgomery is on target with a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Corneille steps away from his opponent and lands a jab.  
Montgomery steps inside.  Corneille lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Corneille switches the action to the outside and is on target with a firm cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Montgomery's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Montgomery's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.
