Bryn Weddell vs James Frodge

Boxing Daily Report from the Simuunza Promotions promoted show at Gethin Nicholson Gym, Minneapolis,  taking place on 02/08/2031:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Great Lakes Minimumweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Bryn Weddell (5 - 13(1) - 4) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and James Frodge(19 - 8(1) - 1) from Fort Wayne, USA.  Both Weddell and Frodge weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Harry Streblow, and the three ringside judges are Nathan Langer, Harry Streblow and Nathan Langer.  

Round 1: 

Frodge is on target with a right hook.  
Weddell hits home with a cross.  
Weddell gets on the inside.  Frodge drives a left uppercut into Weddell's body.  
Frodge is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a ramrod jab.  
Frodge snaps his opponents head back with a stiff jab.  
Frodge is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook.  
Frodge hits home with a left hook.  Frodge holds on to his opponent.  Frodge is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Frodge steps inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Frodge tries to keep the action at long range and lands with a hard jab.  
Frodge is on target with a right hook to Weddell's ribs.  
Frodge walks his opponent into the corner.  Frodge lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Frodge clinches his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Frodge advances into close range and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Frodge clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Frodge pushes his forearm into Weddell's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Weddell's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Weddell's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Frodge gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Frodge digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Frodge throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Frodge clinches his opponent.  Frodge is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Frodge to stop fouling.  
Frodge tries to keep the action at long range and lands with a stiff jab.  
Frodge closes the distance and connects with a right hook.  
Frodge is on target with a right hook.  
Frodge lands a right hook.  
Weddell switches the action to the outside.  Frodge is on target with a jab.  
Frodge lands a sharp right hook.

Frodge steps inside and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Weddell gets on the inside.  Frodge lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Frodge lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Frodge is looking to keep his distance and finds the target with a jab.

Frodge hits home with a stinging cross.  
Frodge walks Weddell into a corner.  Frodge lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Weddell tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land a jab, but Frodge sidesteps and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Frodge steps inside and connects with a right hook.  
Frodge is on target with a right hook.  Frodge clinches his opponent.  Weddell leans on his opponent using all his weight. Frodge tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Weddell behind the head.

Frodge pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a sharp right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  IT LOOKS LIKE WEDDELL WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Frodge sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Frodge lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, KNOCKING WEDDELL DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Frodge lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND WEDDELL IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  It looks like Weddell has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Frodge is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a solid cross.  
Frodge closes the distance and lands a right uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the head.  
Frodge lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Frodge hits home with a left hook.  As Frodge tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Weddell dabs at his face checking for damage.

Frodge lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Weddell recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Frodge tries to land a left hook, but Weddell blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Frodge's ribs.

Frodge is on target with a mean left hook.  WEDDELL WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Weddell quickly recovers.

Frodge manages to force Weddell onto the ropes.  Frodge digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  Frodge throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Frodge steps inside and drives a powerful right hook into Weddell's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE WEDDELL WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Frodge senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Frodge lands a right uppercut, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND SENDS WEDDELL TO THE CANVAS!  The count reaches 10, but Weddell is unable to get up!  The winner by KO is Frodge!
