John Lay vs Myung-joo Um

Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at Hisense Arena, Melbourne,  taking place on 02/08/2031:

Clearly Hennessy Boxing have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Asia-Oceania Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John Lay (22(7) - 6(5) - 1) who hails from Perth, Australia and Myung-joo Um(20(17) - 0) from Cheonan, South Korea.  Both Lay and Um weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dom Clapperton, and the three ringside judges are Gethin Mitchell, James Christou and Dave Lockie.  

Round 1: 

Lay stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Um lands a straight 1 - 2.  Um attempts to land a left hook, but Lay slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Lay closes the distance.  Um attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Lay's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Lay sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Lay throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Lay lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.  
Um tries to keep the action at long range and lands a jab.  
Lay pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Um steps away from his opponent.  Lay is on target with a cross.

Lay sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab to the head, a jab to the body and a cross to the head.

Um senses Lay is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Um lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  Lay is not able to stop any of these shots...he looks in trouble...the ref steps in and stops the action!  He says its over!  The winner by TKO is Um!
