Mijo Ivic vs Amon Baughan

Boxing Daily Report from the JSW promoted show at Carrara Indoor Sports Centre, Gold Coast,  taking place on 01/08/2031:

Clearly JSW have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mijo Ivic (8(4) - 1) who hails from Zagreb, Croatia and Amon Baughan(9 - 2 - 1) from Brisbane, Australia.  Both Ivic and Baughan weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Westwood, and the three ringside judges are Mark Taggert, Rob Gollon and Mark Elgin.  

Round 1: 

Baughan gets on the inside.  Ivic lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Ivic clinches his opponent.  Ivic pushes his forearm into Baughan's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Ivic strikes his opponents body with a stinging cross.  
Baughan advances into close range.  Ivic leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Baughan attempts to land a left uppercut, but Ivic blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Ivic closes the distance.  Baughan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ivic lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Ivic gets on the inside.  Baughan is on target with a left hook.  Ivic holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Ivic pushes his forearm into Baughan's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Ivic.  
Ivic closes the distance and lands two left hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Ivic ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks Ivic's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ivic lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Baughan tries to land a left hook, but Ivic slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Ivic drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Ivic lands a right uppercut.  Ivic holds on to his opponent.  Ivic leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Ivic steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Ivic clinches his opponent.  Baughan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Ivic's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ivic is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Ivic steps inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Ivic is on target with a right hook.  
Baughan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ivic lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Ivic switches the action to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Baughan's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Baughan's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Ivic steps inside and hits home with a left hook.  Ivic holds on to his opponent.  Ivic uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Baughan behind the head. The ref breaks Ivic's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Baughan feints a left hook, but Ivic is not fooled and responds with a left uppercut.  
Ivic advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Ivic steps away from his opponent.  Baughan lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Ivic strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Ivic drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  
Ivic lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Ivic steps away from his opponent and is on target with a sharp cross.  
Ivic tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab to his opponents body.  
Ivic finds the target with a jab.  
Baughan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ivic digs in a solid right hook to Baughan's body.  
Baughan tries to land a cross, but Ivic dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ivic lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Baughan recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Ivic steps away from his opponent and lands a jab.  
Baughan steps inside.  Ivic connects with a right uppercut.  Ivic throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ivic hits home with a stinging right hook.  
Ivic is on target with a solid jab.  
Ivic gets on the inside and connects with a right hook.  
Ivic switches the action to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2, AND SENDS BAUGHAN SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.

Baughan throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Baughan closes the distance.  Ivic is on target with a firm right hook to his opponents body.  
Baughan gets on the inside.  Ivic is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Ivic lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Baughan throws a right hook, but Ivic clinches his opponent.  Ivic is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Baughan is clearly losing his cool here!   He steps in close and strikes his opponent with a blatant headbutt!  The ref separates the two fighters and tells Baughan to watch his head.  He gives Ivic a few minutes to recover.  
Ivic lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ivic lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Ivic steps away from his opponent and lands with a sharp jab.  
Ivic is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Ivic lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Ivic is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.

Ivic hits home with a cross.  Baughan now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Ivic is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS BAUGHAN SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Baughan gets on the inside.  Ivic lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Ivic clinches his opponent.  Ivic is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Baughan is starting to lose his head here!   He catches his opponent with what looks like an intentional butt!  The ref signals for the action to continue.  He either hasnt noticed the blatant foul or doesnt care! 
Ivic lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Ivic lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  Ivic tries to land a right uppercut, but Baughan blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Ivic lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Baughan closes the distance.  Ivic lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Ivic lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  
Baughan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Baughan goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Ivic's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Ivic steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Ivic lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Baughan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a right hook into Ivic's ribs.  
Ivic gets on the inside.  Ivic connects with a right uppercut.  As Baughan tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ivic dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Ivic.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Baughan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ivic lands a cross to the body followed by two jab's to the head.  
Ivic lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Baughan closes the distance.  Ivic hits home with a firm right hook.
