Ndumisa Shongwe vs Usi Ayeh

Boxing Daily Report from the South African Boxers promoted show at Popcocks Indoor Sports Arena, Johannesburg,  taking place on 22/07/2031:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Ndumisa Shongwe (0 - 0 - 1) who hails from Boksburg, South Africa and Usi Ayeh(13 - 17(1) - 3) from Soweto, South Africa.  Both Shongwe and Ayeh weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Asavela Sikali, and the three ringside judges are Peter Snyman, Justus De Vries and Gift Manyisa.  

Round 1: 

Ayeh gets on the inside.  Shongwe lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Shongwe holds on to his opponent.  Shongwe pushes his forearm into Ayeh's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Shongwe lands a left hook to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Shongwe gets on the inside.  Ayeh throws a right hook, but Shongwe ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Shongwe pushes his forearm into Ayeh's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Ayeh sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Shongwe lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ayeh gets on the inside.  Shongwe is on target with a left hook to Ayeh's body.  Shongwe holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Shongwe pushes his forearm into Ayeh's face.  The referee warns Shongwe and breaks the clinch.  
Shongwe lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Shongwe is on target with a left uppercut to Ayeh's ribs.  
Shongwe pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to Ayeh's ribs.

Shongwe advances into close range.  Shongwe wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Ayeh has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused a minor cut above.  
Ayeh throws a right hook, but Shongwe clinches his opponent.  Shongwe leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ayeh throws a left hook, but Shongwe clinches his opponent.  Shongwe is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Shongwe throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Shongwe steps inside and throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Shongwe holds on to his opponent.  Shongwe leans on his opponent using all his weight. Ayeh is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Shongwe is on target with a left uppercut.  
Shongwe digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Shongwe ties up his opponent.  Shongwe is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Shongwe's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ayeh throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
Shongwe is on target with a right hook to Ayeh's ribcage.  
Ayeh drives a right hook into Shongwe's body.  
Shongwe gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Shongwe hits home with a cross.  
Shongwe closes the distance and digs in a left hook to Ayeh's body.  
Shongwe manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Shongwe lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Shongwe lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ayeh's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Ayeh's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate. As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ayeh dabs at his face checking for damage.
