Shamus Myres vs Alessio Sozzi

Boxing Daily Report from the United Boxing promoted show at Bradford Ice Arena, Bradford,  taking place on 31/08/2031:

Clearly United Boxing have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Shamus Myres (20(13) - 0 - 1) who hails from Belfast, UK and Alessio Sozzi(18 - 7 - 3) from Rome, Italy.  Myres weighed in at 244 pounds and 11 ounces, while Sozzi weighed in at 256 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Daniel McPhillips, and the three ringside judges are Jonathan Duane, David Duffy and Robert Macmillan.  

Round 1: 

Myres finds the target with a jab.  
Myres switches the action to the outside and lands a jab.  
Myres feints a cross and triggers a right uppercut counter from Sozzi.  Myres springs the trap and counters with  a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Myres leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Sozzi steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Myres throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Myres lands a firm cross.  
Myres gets on the inside.  Sozzi pivots to the right of his opponent.  Sozzi throws a left hook, but Myres holds on to his opponent.  Myres pushes his forearm into Sozzi's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Myres about fouling.  
Myres drives a solid left uppercut into Sozzi's liver.  
Myres steps inside and hits home with a stinging right hook.  Myres clinches his opponent.  Myres leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Myres steps inside and digs in a firm left hook to Sozzi's body.  
Myres gets on the inside and digs in a solid right hook to Sozzi's ribcage.  
Myres switches the action to the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Myres digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  Myres clinches his opponent.  Myres is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Myres throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Myres to stop fouling.  
Myres advances into close range and drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Sozzi attempts to land a cross, but Myres parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Sozzi steps to the outside and attempts to land a cross, but Myres sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Myres's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Sozzi's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.

Myres gets on the inside.  Sozzi sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Myres lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right uppercut to the head.  
Sozzi feints a left, and then lands a cross followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Sozzi sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Myres attempts to land a cross, but Sozzi slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Myres lands a jab.  
Sozzi steps away from his opponent and tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Myres lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Myres steps inside and drives a left hook into Sozzi's ribs.  
Myres switches the action to the outside and is on target with a jab.  
Sozzi feints a cross, and then hits home with a cross.  
Myres gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Sozzi pivots to the left of his opponent.  Sozzi throws a right hook, but Myres clinches his opponent.  Myres leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Myres lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Myres lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Myres advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Myres lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Myres closes the distance.  Sozzi pivots to the right of his opponent.  Myres lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Sozzi quickly recovers.

Myres steps inside.  Sozzi throws a left hook, but Myres holds on to his opponent.  Myres is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Myres and breaks the clinch.  
Myres steps inside.  Sozzi pivots from in front of his opponent.  Myres is on target with a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Myres lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Sozzi's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Myres hits home with a powerful right hook.  SOZZI WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Sozzi now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Myres is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a cross.  
Sozzi pivots to the right of his opponent.  Sozzi is on target with a cross to Myres's body.  Sozzi tries to land a cross, but Myres blocks the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Sozzi sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Myres finds the target with a stiff jab.  
Myres steps inside.  Sozzi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Myres lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.
