Tajo Rozas vs Ponce Barrientos

Boxing Daily Report from the Los Moreco Promotions promoted show at Javier Cruz Artes y Oficios, Panama City,  taking place on 08/09/2031:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Panama Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on NEXtv, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Tajo Rozas (15(13) - 0) who hails from Panama City, Panama and Ponce Barrientos(12 - 4 - 1) from Panama City, Panama.  Both Rozas and Barrientos weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Santiago Messa, and the three ringside judges are Elias Avalos, Joaquin Marquez and Vicente Madrid.  

Round 1: 

Rozas is looking to close the distance and lands a sharp left uppercut.  
Rozas is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Rozas hits home with a sharp cross.  Rozas throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Rozas advances into close range and drives a sharp left hook into Barrientos's liver.  
Rozas quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Rozas lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Rozas attempts to land a left hook, but Barrientos blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Rozas is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Rozas throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Rozas whips in a spiteful right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  BARRIENTOS WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Barrientos quickly recovers. 
Rozas is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Rozas steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Rozas crashes a spiteful right hook to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE BARRIENTOS WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Barrientos almost instantly recovers.

Barrientos is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Barrientos tries to step out of his opponents range and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Rozas is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to Barrientos's body.  
Barrientos finds the target with a spiteful jab.  
Barrientos hits home with a cross.  
Rozas advances into close range.  Rozas quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.

Rozas is looking to close the distance and is on target with a weighty right hook to his opponents ribs.  DOWN GOES BARRIENTOS!  He manages to get up at 4.

Rozas is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Rozas gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Barrientos quickly recovers. 
Rozas walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Rozas lands a sharp left hook.  
Rozas lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Rozas senses Barrientos is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Rozas lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND KNOCKS BARRIENTOS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  It looks like Barrientos has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Rozas steps inside and drives a solid right hook into his opponents body.  Rozas tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Rozas closes the distance and is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  
Rozas lands a jab to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Barrientos steps to the outside and tries to land a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Rozas gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Barrientos's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Rozas manages to force Barrientos into a neutral corner.  Rozas digs in a sharp right hook to Barrientos's body.  
Rozas steps inside and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Barrientos lands with a spiteful jab.  
Barrientos feints a cross, and then strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Rozas is looking to close the distance.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Rozas dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Rozas hits home with a solid cross.  
Barrientos lands a jab.  
Barrientos tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a spiteful left hook.  BARRIENTOS IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  HE MAKES IT TO ONE KNEE, BUT IS UNABLE TO RISE ANY FURTHER AS THE REF COUNTS 10!  The winner by KO is Rozas!
