Juan Ortis vs Xeres Melero

Boxing Daily Report from the Sumito Urayama's KO Kings promoted show at Estadio Jardines del Hipódromo María Mincheff de Lazaroff, Montevideo,  taking place on 17/09/2031:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the South American Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on VTV Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Juan Rojo Ortis (28(20) - 4(2)) who hails from Montevideo, Uruguay and Xeres Melero(25 - 11(2) - 1) from San Juan, Argentina.  Both Ortis and Melero weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Loredo Tio, and the three ringside judges are Ryo Canedo, Santiago Gregorio and Roman Bilbao.  

Round 1: 

Melero stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Ortis lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Melero closes the distance.  Ortis senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Melero and just needs the right shot.  Ortis lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS MELERO DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Melero now seems to have got his legs back.  
Melero lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Ortis lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Melero closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Ortis lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Melero tries to step out of his opponents range and attempts to land a cross, but Ortis blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Ortis finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Melero switches the action to the outside and hits the target with a solid jab.  Melero tries to land a jab, but Ortis sidesteps and counters with a sharp right uppercut to Melero's body.  
Melero lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Melero steps inside.  Ortis lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Ortis attempts to land a left hook, but Melero blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to Ortis's body.  Melero recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Ortis throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ortis's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Melero steps inside.  Ortis drives a left hook into Melero's body.  Ortis attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Melero's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Ortis is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Melero is on target with a jab.  
Melero steps inside.  Ortis connects with a left hook.  
Melero lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Melero manouvers Ortis into the corner.  Melero pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Ortis switches the action to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Melero closes the distance and hits home with a right hook.  
Ortis is on target with a left uppercut to Melero's body.  
Ortis steps to the outside and lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Melero gets on the inside.  Ortis whips in a hurtful left hook to his opponents ribs.  MELERO WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Melero cuts off the ring, trapping Ortis on the ropes.  Ortis thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Melero away.  Ortis crashes a nasty left uppercut to Melero's ribs.  MELERO IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 9.  It looks like Melero has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Ortis tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a solid overhand right.  
Ortis lands a jab to Melero's body.  
Ortis connects with a cross.  
Ortis steps to the outside and lands a solid overhand right.  
Ortis feints a cross, and then is on target with a jab.  
Ortis tries to step out of his opponents range.  Melero attempts to land a jab, but Ortis slips the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Ortis lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Ortis steps away from his opponent and lands two consecutive overhand rights to his opponents head.
