Macario Cortez vs Angel Rogel

Boxing Daily Report from the Reindorf Promotions promoted show at Roman Collado Gym, Juarez,  taking place on 24/08/2031:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Mexico-Chihuahua Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Macario Cortez (8 - 2 - 2) who hails from Chihuahua, Mexico and Angel Rogel(7 - 3 - 1) from Juarez, Mexico.  Cortez weighed in at 139 pounds and 12 ounces, while Rogel weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dario Alderete, and the three ringside judges are Malvolio Pantano, Fanuco Lugo and Juan Juan.  

Round 1: 

Cortez lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Cortez advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Rogel on the ropes.  Cortez lands a right hook.  
Cortez sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Cortez digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  Cortez clinches his opponent.  Cortez tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Rogel behind the head.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Rogel has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
