Dave Hughson vs Malvolio Velazquez

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Stub Hub Center (Football), Los Angeles,  taking place on 16/10/2031:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dave Hughson (39(28) - 0 - 1) who hails from Oakland, USA and Malvolio Velazquez(13 - 3 - 1) from La Paz, Bolivia.  Both Hughson and Velazquez weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Barry Maxton, and the three ringside judges are Dan Beatty, Gazi Pasha and Amer Othman.  

Round 1: 

Hughson connects with a cross.  
Velazquez advances into close range.  Hughson connects with a left hook.

Hughson drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Velazquez tries to land a cross, but Hughson dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Velazquez dabs at his face checking for damage.  Velazquez has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor damage to the nose.  
Velazquez walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Velazquez pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the head.
