Cortez Aceves vs Pedro Alverez

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Guanajuato promoted show at Mexico-Guanajuato Gym, Leon,  taking place on 25/09/2031:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Guanajuato Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Cortez Aceves (20 - 7 - 1) who hails from Leon, Mexico and Pedro Alverez(8 - 9 - 3) from Leon, Mexico.  Both Aceves and Alverez weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Angel Villafranca, and the three ringside judges are Diego Nuncio, Bronco Cordon and Manny Francisco.  

Round 1: 

Alverez lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Aceves steps to the outside and tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Alverez advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Aceves in the corner.  Alverez lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Alverez sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Aceves feints a right, and then throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to Aceves's body.  
Aceves is on target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Aceves's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.

Aceves steps inside.  Aceves quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Alverez connects with a right hook.  
Aceves steps to the outside and lands a solid jab.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Aceves dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Aceves steps inside.  Aceves pivots to the left of his opponent.  Alverez is on target with a left hook.

Alverez walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Alverez drives a right hook into his opponents body.
