Mark Lennon vs John Phoenix

Boxing Daily Report from the No Limit promoted show at Cairns Storer, Cairns,  taking place on 30/10/2031:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mark Lennon (4 - 0) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and John Phoenix(0 - 3 - 2) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Lennon and Phoenix weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Whalen, and the three ringside judges are Jack Donohoe, Darryl Eckford and Vincent Dykes.  

Round 1: 

Lennon closes the distance and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  Lennon holds on to his opponent.  Lennon leans on his opponent using all his weight. Lennon is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Lennon and breaks the clinch.  
Lennon lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Lennon clinches his opponent.  Lennon leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Lennon steps inside and drives a firm left uppercut into his opponents body.  Lennon ties up his opponent.  Lennon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Lennon uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Phoenix behind the head. 
Lennon advances into close range.  Phoenix quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Lennon is on target with a left hook to Phoenix's body.  
Phoenix pivots to the left of his opponent.  Lennon hits home with a left hook.  
Lennon advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND PHOENIX IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 7.  Phoenix almost instantly recovers. 
Lennon hits home with a stinging jab.  
Lennon lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Lennon is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Lennon gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Lennon lands a right hook to the body, a cross to the head and a right hook to the head.  
Lennon sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Phoenix throws a left uppercut, but Lennon holds on to his opponent.  Lennon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Lennon manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Lennon hits home with a right hook.  
Lennon lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Lennon lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He then lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Lennon holds on to his opponent.  Lennon leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Lennon lands a firm left uppercut.  
Lennon lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Lennon lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Phoenix throws a right hook, but Lennon clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Lennon pushes his forearm into Phoenix's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Lennon.  
Lennon throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Lennon clinches his opponent.  Lennon leans on his opponent using all his weight. Lennon tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Phoenix's kidney. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Lennon to stop fouling.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Phoenix's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Phoenix's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Round 2: 

Lennon hits home with a cross.  
Phoenix pivots to the side of his opponent.  Lennon lands a cross to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a cross to the head.  
Phoenix walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Lennon is on target with a jab.  
Lennon steps inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by two left uppercut's to the body.  
Lennon gets on the inside.  Phoenix throws a right hook, but Lennon holds on to his opponent.  Lennon is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Lennon steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Phoenix tries to keep the action at long range.  Lennon thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Phoenix away.  Lennon whips in a mean left uppercut to his opponents body.  PHOENIX IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Phoenix now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Lennon gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body, KNOCKING PHOENIX DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Phoenix almost instantly recovers. 
Lennon walks Phoenix into the blue corner.  Lennon lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Lennon lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Lennon clinches his opponent.  Lennon uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Phoenix behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Lennon about fouling.  
Lennon is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Lennon crashes a DESTRUCTIVE right uppercut to his opponents body.  PHOENIX HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  THE REF IMMEDIATELY WAVES OFF THE FIGHT...HE'S SEEN ENOUGH!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Lennon!
