Matthew Barnes vs Davie Saarikoski

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Michigan promoted show at Detroit Eronen, Detroit,  taking place on 02/10/2031:

Clearly AI USA-Michigan have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Michigan Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Matthew Barnes (18 - 15(3) - 2) who hails from Detroit, USA and Davie Saarikoski(14(10) - 0) from Detroit, USA.  Barnes weighed in at 147 pounds, while Saarikoski weighed in at 146 pounds And 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is John Kennan, and the three ringside judges are Nick McGowan, Mick Wathen and Floyd Solinski.  

Round 1: 

Saarikoski lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body, DROPPING BARNES TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Barnes quickly recovers. 
Saarikoski lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Saarikoski holds on to his opponent.  Saarikoski is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Saarikoski gets on the inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Barnes almost instantly recovers. 
Saarikoski advances into close range.  Saarikoski quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Saarikoski lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Saarikoski holds on to his opponent.  Saarikoski pushes his forearm into Barnes's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Saarikoski is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Saarikoski lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Saarikoski gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Saarikoski lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND BARNES IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Barnes almost instantly recovers.

Barnes throws a right hook, but Saarikoski clinches his opponent.  Saarikoski pushes his forearm into Barnes's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Saarikoski manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Saarikoski lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Saarikoski closes the distance.  Saarikoski is on target with a stinging left hook to Barnes's body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Barnes has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Saarikoski is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Saarikoski digs in a sharp left hook to Barnes's body.  
Saarikoski lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Saarikoski ties up his opponent.  Saarikoski leans on his opponent using all his weight. Saarikoski is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Saarikoski.

Saarikoski lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Saarikoski holds on to his opponent.  Saarikoski leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Barnes almost instantly recovers. 
Saarikoski advances into close range and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Saarikoski closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Saarikoski ties up his opponent.  Saarikoski leans on his opponent using all his weight. Saarikoski uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Barnes behind the head. 
Saarikoski lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Saarikoski lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Barnes dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Saarikoski digs in a weighty left uppercut to Barnes's body.  BARNES WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Saarikoski quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  It looks like Barnes has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Saarikoski gets on the inside and drives a stinging left hook into Barnes's body.  
Saarikoski steps inside and is on target with a right uppercut to Barnes's body.  
Saarikoski pivots to the left of his opponent.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Barnes.  The foul has worsened the damage  around the left eye.  
Saarikoski drives a firm left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Saarikoski lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Saarikoski ties up his opponent.  Saarikoski is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Saarikoski tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Barnes behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Saarikoski to stop fouling.  
Saarikoski lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Saarikoski lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND DROPS BARNES TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.

Barnes could be stopped here, if Saarikoski can find the right shot!  Saarikoski drives a powerful right hook into his opponents body.  BARNES IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  
Saarikoski closes the distance and whips in a nasty right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Saarikoski is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Saarikoski drives a weighty left uppercut into his opponents body.  BARNES IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 9.  
Saarikoski lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND DROPS BARNES TO THE CANVAS!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Saarikoski!
