Patrick Mitchell vs Denton Rankine

Boxing Daily Report from the Accam Promotions promoted show at Kai Broadus Gym, Bridgeport,  taking place on 02/11/2031:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Connecticut Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Patrick Mitchell (19(1) - 5 - 1) who hails from Hartford, USA and Denton Rankine(5 - 14 - 1) from Bridgeport, USA.  Mitchell weighed in at 134 pounds and 15 ounces, while Rankine weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Parry, and the three ringside judges are Dominic Kerr, Andy Swaney and Jack Blaney.  

Round 1: 

Mitchell lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Mitchell walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Mitchell senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Rankine and just needs the right shot.  Mitchell lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a right hook to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  It looks like Rankine has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Mitchell lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mitchell gets on the inside and forces Rankine to back into the ropes.  Mitchell connects with a sharp right hook.  
Mitchell digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents liver.  Mitchell tries to land a right hook, but Rankine parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mitchell gets on the inside.  Mitchell pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Mitchell closes the distance.  Rankine throws a right uppercut, but Mitchell holds on to his opponent.  Rankine hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Rankine to stop fouling.  
Rankine throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Mitchell time to recover.  
Mitchell closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Mitchell hits home with a cross.  
Mitchell gets on the inside and hits home with a right hook.  
Mitchell lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Mitchell lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Mitchell sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Rankine steps to the outside.  Mitchell lands a straight 1 - 2.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Rankine's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Rankine's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Rankine's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Mitchell connects with a stinging right uppercut.  
Mitchell walks his opponent down, trapping him in the red corner.  Mitchell lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Mitchell thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Rankine away.  Mitchell crashes a hurtful right hook to Rankine's body.  RANKINE IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  It looks like Rankine has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Mitchell digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Mitchell throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mitchell lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Rankine steps away from his opponent.  Mitchell lands a cross.  
Mitchell is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Mitchell ties up his opponent.  Mitchell pushes his forearm into Rankine's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  Rankine almost instantly recovers. 
Mitchell attempts to land a cross, but Rankine dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mitchell closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Mitchell clinches his opponent.  Mitchell is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Mitchell and breaks the clinch.  
Mitchell lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Mitchell gets on the inside and slams a hurtful left hook into his opponents liver.  RANKINE IS HURT!  Rankine almost instantly recovers. 
Mitchell advances into close range and digs in a right uppercut to Rankine's body.  
Mitchell closes the distance and lands a right uppercut, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mitchell quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Mitchell lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Mitchell is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Mitchell lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body, DROPPING RANKINE TO THE CANVAS!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Mitchell!
