James Winchell vs Matt Stockard

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Canada-Manitoba promoted show at Bradley Pearce Gym, Winnipeg,  taking place on 15/11/2031:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-Manitoba Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are James Winchell (9 - 13(2) - 2) who hails from Winnipeg, Canada and Matt Stockard(9(2) - 1) from Winnipeg, Canada.  Both Winchell and Stockard weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Fiddes, and the three ringside judges are Chris Tillery, Chris Kidd and William Fergeson.  

Round 1: 

Winchell steps to the outside and hits home with a cross.  
Stockard digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Winchell steps away from his opponent.  Stockard lands a firm cross.  
Winchell tries to step out of his opponents range and finds the target with a jab.  
Stockard cuts off the ring, trapping Winchell in a corner.  Stockard slams a big left uppercut into his opponents ribs.  WINCHELL IS HURT!  
Stockard senses Winchell is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Stockard lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND DROPS WINCHELL!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Winchell now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Stockard lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Winchell steps to the outside.  Stockard connects with a solid cross.  
Stockard gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Winchell's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Winchell's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Winchell's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Winchell is looking to keep his distance.  Stockard lands a sharp overhand right.  
Stockard is looking to close the distance and lands a stinging right uppercut.  
Stockard lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Stockard hits home with a cross.  
Stockard lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Stockard holds on to his opponent.  Stockard pushes his forearm into Winchell's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Winchell is looking to keep his distance.  Stockard lands an overhand left.  
Stockard closes the distance and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Stockard walks his opponent down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Stockard is on target with a sharp right hook to Winchell's ribcage.

It looks like Winchell has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Stockard is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent into the corner.  Stockard lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.

Stockard steps inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Stockard hits home with a firm cross.

Winchell is looking to keep his distance.  Stockard quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Stockard drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Winchell is on target with a cross.

Stockard pivots to the right of his opponent.  Winchell throws a left uppercut, but Stockard holds on to his opponent.  Stockard uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Winchell's kidney.

Stockard is on target with a solid left hook to Winchell's liver.  
Stockard drives a right hook into Winchell's body.  
Stockard digs in a stinging left hook to Winchell's body.  
Winchell attempts to land a right hook, but Stockard dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Stockard walks Winchell down, trapping him on the ropes.  Winchell is on target with a left hook to Stockard's body.  
Stockard lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Winchell tries to keep the action at long range.  Stockard feints a cross, and then lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Stockard walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Stockard pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body, AND DROPS WINCHELL TO THE CANVAS!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Stockard!
