Michael Downie vs James Groat

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Jamaica-Saint Andrew promoted show at Harry Beaton Gym, New Kingston,  taking place on 23/10/2031:

Clearly AI Jamaica-Saint Andrew have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Jamaica-Saint Andrew Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Michael Downie (5 - 15(1) - 1) who hails from New Kingston, Jamaica and James Groat(4(3) - 1) from New Kingston, Jamaica.  Both Downie and Groat weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Leith, and the three ringside judges are James Wands, Alen Candlish and David Leith.  

Round 1: 

Groat steps inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by two left hook's to the body.  Groat clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Groat pushes his forearm into Downie's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Groat about fouling.  
Groat is on target with a stinging right hook to his opponents ribcage.  Groat holds on to his opponent.  Groat tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Downie's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Downie steps inside.  Groat throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Groat ties up his opponent.  Groat is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Downie gets on the inside and attempts to land a left hook, but Groat sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
Groat closes the distance.  Downie attempts to land a right hook, but Groat slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Groat lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Groat clinches his opponent.  Groat leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Groat digs in a left hook to Downie's liver.  Groat ties up his opponent.  Groat leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Groat's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Groat advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Downie in a corner.  Groat pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a stinging left uppercut to Downie's liver.  
Groat lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Groat digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Groat wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Downie dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Groat advances into close range and digs in a left hook to Downie's ribs.

Groat gets on the inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Groat hits home with a sharp right hook.  Groat clinches his opponent.  Groat is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Groat lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Groat clinches his opponent.  Groat throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee warns Groat and breaks the clinch.

Downie could be stopped here, if Groat can find the right shot!  Groat whips in a DESTRUCTIVE right hook to Downie's ribs.  DOWNIE IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  THE REF DOES NOT GIVE DOWNIE THE CHANCE TO BEAT THE COUNT...HE'S STOPPING THE FIGHT!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Groat!
