Dai Blackard vs Colin Herring

Boxing Daily Report from the ADR Boxing promoted show at Canberra Stadium, Canberra,  taking place on 03/01/2032:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Oceania Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Dai Blackard (27(17) - 0 - 1) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Colin Herring(15 - 10(3) - 2) from Sydney, Australia.  Blackard weighed in at 230 pounds and 6 ounces, while Herring weighed in at 227 pounds and 7 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Noah Pierce, and the three ringside judges are Noah Pierce, John Hakopyan and Noel Wilson.  

Round 1: 

Blackard pivots from in front of his opponent.  Blackard digs in a sharp left hook to Herring's body.  Blackard clinches his opponent.  Blackard is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Blackard's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Blackard feints a cross, and then lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.

Blackard steps inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Blackard clinches his opponent.  Blackard is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Blackard.  
Herring steps away from his opponent.  Blackard sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Blackard gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Blackard forces Herring to retreat into the blue corner.  Blackard is on target with a left hook to Herring's body.  Blackard ties up his opponent.  Blackard leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Blackard connects with a left uppercut.  
Blackard digs in a right uppercut to Herring's body.  
Blackard is on target with a left uppercut to Herring's body.  
Blackard digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents liver.  Blackard ties up his opponent.  Blackard tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Herring behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Blackard closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Blackard steps inside.  Blackard pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Blackard quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Herring goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Blackard's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Blackard lands a left hook to the body followed by two right uppercut's to the head.  
Blackard pivots to the side of his opponent and lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Blackard connects with a stinging left hook.  
Blackard lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Blackard ties up his opponent.  Blackard leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Blackard lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Blackard lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  
Blackard lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Blackard lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.

Blackard digs in a left uppercut to Herring's body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Herring dabs at his face checking for damage.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Herring's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Herring's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Herring's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Blackard manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Blackard drives a left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Blackard lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Blackard lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
The right shot from Blackard could be enough to force the stoppage!  Blackard lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head, AND DROPS HERRING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  It looks like Herring has now recovered from that shot earlier.

Blackard lands a HUGE left hook.  HERRING IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  HE UNSTEADILY TRIES TO GET UP BUT IS UNABLE TO BEAT THE 10 COUNT!  The winner by KO is Blackard!
