Sam Hewson vs Mel Cowans

Boxing Daily Report from the Jali Promotions promoted show at Memphis Nevin, Memphis,  taking place on 28/12/2031:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Deep South Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Sam Hewson (17(6) - 3) who hails from Louisville, USA and Mel Cowans(34(8) - 1) from Memphis, USA.  Hewson weighed in at 231 pounds And 2 ounces, while Cowans weighed in at 239 pounds And 7 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Dennis McKenzie, and the three ringside judges are Bart Bargas, Scott Vaill and Ian Sandison.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Cowans dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Cowans.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.
