Gordon Craig vs Joe McPhie

Boxing Daily Report from the Sihumbwa Promotions promoted show at Madison Neagle, Madison,  taking place on 31/12/2031:

Clearly Sihumbwa Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Wisconsin Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gordon Craig (12(5) - 3) who hails from Madison, USA and Joe McPhie(9 - 16(1)) from Milwaukee, USA.  Both Craig and McPhie weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Theo Gwenn, and the three ringside judges are Joseph Lawgoch, John Peart and Chris Bobet.  

Round 1: 

Craig gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Craig clinches his opponent.  Craig leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Craig attempts to land a left uppercut, but McPhie blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Craig is looking to close the distance and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Craig manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Craig lands a right hook.  Craig clinches his opponent.  Craig pushes his forearm into McPhie's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Craig lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Craig dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Craig.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Craig lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Craig connects with a firm right hook.  
McPhie steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a jab, but Craig slips the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Craig drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Craig closes the distance and is on target with a solid left hook.  
Craig sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Craig gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Craig drives a solid left uppercut into his opponents body.  Craig throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
McPhie steps away from his opponent and lands a cross.  
Craig advances into close range.  McPhie throws a left hook, but Craig holds on to his opponent.  Craig pushes his forearm into McPhie's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Craig about fouling.  
McPhie tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Craig steps inside and connects with a firm right hook.  
Craig walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Craig lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  McPhie recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Craig lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Craig advances into close range.  McPhie throws a left hook, but Craig ties up his opponent.  Craig leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Craig connects with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McPhie's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  McPhie's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Craig drives a firm left uppercut into McPhie's body.  Craig clinches his opponent.  Craig is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Craig to stop fouling.  
McPhie tries to land a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp right hook to his opponents ribcage.  MCPHIE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Craig is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Craig lands a cross to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND KNOCKS MCPHIE DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  It looks like McPhie has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Craig hits home with a firm right uppercut.  
Craig steps inside and connects with a FIERCE right hook.  MCPHIE IS DOWN!  HE UNSTEADILY TRIES TO GET UP BUT IS UNABLE TO BEAT THE 10 COUNT!  The winner by KO is Craig!
