John Blair vs Iago Poveda

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at AT&T Park, San Francisco,  taking place on 31/03/2032:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John Lights Out Blair (41(36) - 2(1)) who hails from Oakland, USA and Iago Poveda(13(2) - 10(1) - 1) from Panama City, Panama.  Both Blair and Poveda weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Clint Grullon, and the three ringside judges are Joey Brice, Joey Brice and Declan Gaunce.  

Round 1: 

Blair steps to the outside.  Blair feints a jab, but Poveda is not fooled and is on target with a right hook.  
Poveda steps inside and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Blair switches the action to the outside and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Blair lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He then lands a jab, overhand right and a cross to his opponents head.  
Poveda advances into close range and digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Blair steps away from his opponent and connects with a sharp cross.  
Poveda closes the distance and forces Blair to back into the ropes.  Blair is on target with a firm left hook.  
Blair is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with a sharp overhand left.  
Blair finds the target with a jab.  
Poveda steps inside and hits home with a right hook.  
Blair steps to the outside and snaps his opponents head back with a hard jab.

Poveda steps inside.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Poveda dabs at his face checking for damage.

Poveda walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Blair drives a right hook into Poveda's body.

Blair lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Poveda quickly recovers.

Poveda gets on the inside and drives a right hook into Blair's ribs.  Poveda throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Blair switches the action to the outside and connects with a solid overhand right.  
Poveda closes the distance and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Poveda manouvers Blair onto the ropes.  Poveda sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Blair drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Blair is looking to keep his distance and hits home with an overhand right.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Poveda's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Poveda's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES POVEDA!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Blair steps away from his opponent.  Blair lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, DROPPING POVEDA TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  Poveda now seems to have his senses back.

Blair quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Poveda attempts to land a left hook, but Blair blocks the shot and counters with a HUGE left uppercut.  POVEDA IS HURT!  Poveda recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Blair steps to the outside and lands a cross.  
Poveda gets on the inside and walks Blair down, trapping him on the ropes.  Blair lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Blair steps to the outside and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Blair EXPLODES a HUGE cross into his opponents face.  DOWN GOES POVEDA!  He manages to get up at 9.  He doesnt look in good shape though! Poveda is still on wobbly legs as the ref signals that the fight is over.  The winner by TKO is Blair!
